About Us
Explore and Develop Waitara is privately owned and operated by and early childhood professional who is also a mum. We work closely with parents ensuring continuity between home and our service. We ensure a close working relationship with the Department of Community Services and the National Childcare Accreditation Council so that we are able to provide a high level service to you where all safety and regulatory requirements are met and exceeded.
We have experienced and qualified educators for all of the age groups. Our educators regularly attend current training courses and training on the latest Early Childhood Education. All our educators and volunteers undergo a Working with Children Check. Our centre is located in a quiet suburban street with ample off street parking for parents.
Children are provided with nutritionally balanced meals including Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea, plus Creche children are provided with S26 formula, nappies and bed linen.
Our Centre is divided into two sections (Creche & Pre-school) and has four playrooms, a large playground for the 2.5 - 6 Years children, and a smaller playground for the 0 - 2.5 Years children.
Creche
- Joey's 0-15 Month- Our Joey staff nuture the babies, continuing home like routines. It has a variety of learning centres that allow the young children to explore their environment and resources freely through play. Each child has their own cot for sleep in our quiet sleep rooms. They share a playground with the Bilby's allowing them to explore their environment and sandpit freely during outside play times.

Bilby's 15 Month -2.5 Years - This is our older group of babies who are able to walk & only require one sleep a day. Each child sleeps on a small mattress on the floor during rest time, and staff offer a range of slightly older activities to further prepare the Bilby's for transition to the Pre-school side of the centre. They share a playground with the Joey's during outside play times
Pre-School
- Koala's 2.5 - 3.5 Years - This room is designed to facilitate children's curiosities through the provision of ample resources and learning centres for them to discover. We love to see the Koala’s start to develop their self help skills, & encourage independence wherever we can. They share a playground with the Possum's & Wombat's during outside play times.
- Possum's & Wombat's 3.5 - 6 Years - Our Pre-school playroom has learning areas designed to encourage the children to explore. Our Pre-school program includes both free play and structured learning times to prepare children for their early school years. In relation to School Readiness our objective is to provide a program that encourages children to become active learners through a play-based program that encourages thinking, investigating, exploring and problem solving in a social environment. They share a playground with the Koala's during outside play times.
